Hey y’all! I am doing a fundraiser for my friend, John Carter. I met John through his wife, Heather who has been my best friend since fifth grade. Both are near and dear to my heart! John was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer less than a month ago and will undergo extensive surgeries at Duke in the coming weeks. On top of that, this week John ended up in the hospital and had to have his appendix removed. As if he hasn’t been through enough, they just learned that the pathology from his surgery to remove his appendix has come back positive for a different type of cancer. Over the next few weeks they will be meeting with various doctors for tests to determine next steps.

 For those of you that don’t know John personally, he is a police officer and the kindest person you’ll ever meet. He is always showing up for others, serving his community and being a hero to those in need.
